Stories for Toddlers
Simple, repetitive and easy to join in with.
Stories for the youngest listeners: a handful of sentences, a strong rhythm, and subjects straight out of their own day — shoes, the dog, dinner, bath time, a sock that has gone missing.
Repetition is doing all the work. The same phrase coming back on every page is what lets a two-year-old join in, and joining in is why they ask for it again immediately.
Expect to be interrupted, to have pages turned early, and to read the same one four times running. All of that is the story working.
