Tidying Up Together

Making the clearing-up part of the game.

Tidying goes better when it is smaller, shorter and more specific. "Tidy up" is an impossible instruction; "put the blocks in the blue box" is a task a three-year-old can complete.

These pieces cover making it findable — labels with pictures, containers that are not too big, and a clear stopping point — and the games that make it move faster.

Doing it together for longer than feels reasonable is normal. Expecting a young child to tidy alone is where most of the arguments start.

We'll email you when Bright Play Days launches properly. No more than that.

Can we count your visit? It tells us which activities actually help, so we make more of those. No advertising, no profiling, and nothing about your child. Cookie policy
