Life Skills

Learn Life Skills through play.

Young children want to do what you are doing, and that window does not stay open forever. Washing vegetables, matching socks, watering plants, laying the table, sweeping, buttering toast — all of it is genuinely useful and genuinely absorbing.

The trick is setting it up so they can succeed: a small jug rather than a big one, a low table, a job with an obvious end. Slower than doing it yourself, always. Worth it, mostly.

These are also the activities that make a child feel capable, which is a different and longer-lasting thing than being entertained.

We'll email you when Bright Play Days launches properly. No more than that.

Can we count your visit? It tells us which activities actually help, so we make more of those. No advertising, no profiling, and nothing about your child. Cookie policy
