Colors

Learn Colors through play.

Colour is usually the first way children sort the world, which makes it a useful handle for everything else — sorting, matching, patterns and describing all begin here.

The activities split into three kinds: finding colours (hunts around the house or garden), sorting them (into cups, trays, egg boxes), and mixing them, which is the one that produces genuine astonishment the first time blue and yellow become green.

Mixing works with paint, water and food colouring, and with cellophane held up to the window if you would rather nothing got wet. All three versions are here.

We'll email you when Bright Play Days launches properly. No more than that.

Can we count your visit? It tells us which activities actually help, so we make more of those. No advertising, no profiling, and nothing about your child. Cookie policy
