Counting

Learn Counting through play.

Counting out loud and counting objects are different skills. The second one needs a child to touch each thing once, say one number per thing, and understand that the last number they said is the answer — and that final step takes longer to arrive than most people expect.

So everything here is counted by hand: steps up the stairs, buttons into a jar, pom-poms into an egg box, jumps on the spot. The physical touch is doing the work.

Count everything, all day, out loud. Stairs, peas, socks, cars parked on the street. That habit is worth more than any single activity on this page.

We'll email you when Bright Play Days launches properly. No more than that.

Can we count your visit? It tells us which activities actually help, so we make more of those. No advertising, no profiling, and nothing about your child. Cookie policy
